Why Casework Supervision ?

Casework Supervision is essential to ensure high standards of professional practice. Ongoing supervision helps counsellors to monitor and review the
quality of their work as well as their client's progress.

I consider my roles as a Counselling Casework Supervisor to be a combination
of a mentor, coach, confidant, and supporter .

Supervision is important for every counsellor as this provides:

* A safe and supporting environment where they can discuss any issues
they may have relating to their client’s, their work.

* An opportunity share situations and get a different perspective.

* Advice an guidance if they ever feel stuck .

* The opportunity to grow and develop as a counsellor .

* A safety-net as the supervisor can often identify things that the counsellor
is not aware of i.e. overwork and burn out .

* A place where they can gain additional knowledge and share experiences .

As an Integrative Casework Supervisior I aim to tailor supervision to meet
the needs of my supervisees and their clients .

My supervision is very flexible and can develop as the supervision relationship develops. I draw upon knowledge , skills and theories I have learned in different trainings I have completed. I have a working knowledge of Psychodynamic, Gestalt , Cognitive, Transactional Analysis , Systemic and Solution Focussed theories.
